Ok, I have a big issue to report to people here:
When I stumbled upon the game, I wanted to try it out a bit. I love survival game set in some post apocalyptic future like METRO and STALKER.
Now, while downloading, I had a feeling I saw this game somewhere before. While I was reading the reviews, there was no “number of hours of me play” indicating I haven’t played it before. When loading in game, I got to character selection screen, there was already a character called “SneakyFinger” level 4. I thought “well, that’s weird”. Then I went to my files, and went to the folder of the game. I stumbled upon a folder marked as “SneakyFinger” folder created in 2014. Then, I figured it out. This is a game I played it before in 2014 and that was the reason why it was so familiar. I still entered the game

I have been playing this game for about 8 years now since the start of the beta (before it went live on steam) and it went through a lot of ups and downs (mostly downs). Its a hardcore Russian MMO Third-Person Shooter with RPG elements and some survival aspects, that is based on the book/film “Roadside Picnic”/”Stalker”. As many Russian games it heavily relies on grinding, and as many Free-2-Play titles it is Pay-2-Progress. I would not necessarily call it Pay-2-Win, because you can get almost everything just by playing a lot and trading with other players, and that includes the best weapons and best gear in the game. But for full disclosure, i have yet to meat a veteran ingame who has not spent a single Dollar in the game.

You can play Anomaly Zone as a Loner, but the game definitely encourages – somestimes forces you – to play in a group/clan with others. And that in my opinion is a good thing, because the game thrives from its community and the love/hate relationships between players. Being called names in Russian really elevates the immersion overall. There is a clan war taking place twice a week, in which clans fight over each others bases, and while it can get very laggy (especially when you have a bad pc like me), it is still a lot of fun and the victory over another clan feels very satisfying. There are smaller fortifications scattered throughout most maps, which can be captured every day as well.

There are two different classes (alien and native), which have a variety of professions each you have to chose from. The game is meant to be played on multiple characters, because each profession has advantages and disadvantages and can do things others can not. There is a crafting system, but the success chance and the things you can do is depending on your profession and skills. Medics can revive other players and remove debuffs, Defenders can use heavy explosives like RPGs, Snipers can cloak, Craftsmen and Scientists can use a Electro-Impulse gun and so on. For starters i usually recommend going for Mutanthunter or Pathfinder though, because they have the best conditions at the start. Most veterans also start with these professions when they create a new character and usually change them to another one when they are atleast level 25.

As in most games coming from the former USSR region, players are not held by their hand and have to explore and figure out most of the stuff by themselves. This is probably the reason why many players from the West avoid titles like this. If you are a beginner i highly recommend just following all of the quests. Eventually they will lead you through the map and eventually to new maps and perviously undiscovered territory.

Players, who do not speak Russian, should either start learning it or have a translating app open at all times. There are many words, that describe Russians, but ‘bilingual’ is not one of them. Most of them will continue to write to you in Russian, despite knowing that you do not understand a single word. Therefor it is a huge advantage, if you learn some of the words as soon as possible. Some Russians do not like Americans or any people from NATO countries, so knowing Russian and knowing how to properly use a translator can save you from getting spawn camped. And always remember the saying: “Heels on ground, comrade found. Heels in sky, Western spy!”
The majority of Russian players i have meat are cool though and especially some of the younger ones speak English or atleast understand you.

Recently the player base has shrinked a lot due to lack of new content and patches, but now that they announced a new boss and a new map coming soon, i feel like it is time to write a positive review, in order to get some new players interested in the game. The game has certainly a lot of issues and many bugs and glitches, sometimes it is a huge sh_it show and i got banned from the official VK group for telling the developers how retar_ded they are, but i would not have played it for 5000+ hours, if i didnt enjoy it.

First year in shinobi striker, and so far the two character’s are better than most, not a fan of the constant missiles, but gedo statue along with sakura’s two jutsu are quite amazing. I can’t wait for Kawaki, and the other two. I heard it’ll be Edo tensei Itachi next, not quite sure but if it is, wow, this game just hit #1 in the 94 games i have on steam and off of steam.

Great addition to Chess Knights series !
The SHINOBI theme is awesome: soundtrack and sound effects really gives you the theme immersion and peace of mind that the puzzles demands. Got myself looking for shurikens on my pocket 😀
The series makes the perfect blending of chess pieces movement with the puzzles presented in such a clever way that makes the game fun for everyone.
My son (4 years old) NEVER EVER asked to join a chess match.. BUT when he saw me playing, he just got hooked: guess he will learn a bit of chess without knowing (LOL) — maybe another chess fan is on the making.

There are no instructions at all beyond how chess pieces move. The player is not told what the goal of the game is or how to achieve the goal. Most frustrating of all game does not explain what pieces on the board in relation to the player piece. Some seem to move left to right, other diagonally & there appears to be no clear reason why other than the piece that captured me is supposed to MAYBE be a rook or bishop. I honestly cannot tell. I also found myself sucked into an unwinnable golden room with no instruction at all. Am I supposed to capture the pieces? Are the pieces supposed to capture me? Am I supposed to reach a check point? What IS the check point!? The spaces that LOOK like an end goal reaching all of them does nothing. The complete lack of instruction is infuriating to a point of rage. I need a clear guide as to what pieces are, what they do & where they go along with what the goal of a game is or it is unplayable. There is a short menu that shows hardly distinguishable video of some pieces. Rook moves, up/down, & bishop diagonal but that still does NOT tell me what is a rook in the game, do they capture me, I them or none of the above? Can these pieces “Activate” at 1 square? 2 squares? 3? I have no idea. Literally nothing is ever explained. I know this game has all great reviews but I do not understand how. I find this to be completely unplayable & am honestly mad I spent the money. If anyone can clearly explain how to play this game to me I may change my review if I can. If not do not buy. I repeat Do. Not. Buy.

A great physics-based sandbox vehicle building game with lots of potential, let down by poor execution. I’m giving it a thumbs up because I had fun with it, but it’s really barely a pass.

Building vehicles feels great. The editor is powerful and intuitive, probably the best I’ve seen in any vehicle building game (though that’s a short list). But there’s really nothing to do with all of your creations. The missions are very lackluster, and there’s not much of a progression system. I had the most fun just cruising around with friends in multiplayer, showing off our creations and doing races. But that gets old.

There’s lots of little bugs / physics jank / quality of life annoyances that start to take their toll after a while. For example, the sound of wind is always the same, really loud, and plays purely based on your altitude. There is changing weather in the game (you can even use wind speed sensors), but the wind sound always plays from about 80 meters up, regardless of the weather or if you’re inside a vehicle or not. On long flights this gets really annoying. Also, while buoyancy is really well done and it’s lots of fun to battle the waves, make a submarine or try hydroplaning, the aerodynamics simulation is really lacking. The air feels like soup and you’ll plummet out of the sky as soon as you turn off your engines. Building gliders is impossible. There’s also no point in trying to reduce drag: shape of your vehicle has almost no effect on its top speed. The key to speed is simply stacking more engines.

Sound design is underwhelming. Having a big ship with massive engines actually *sound* like it would make it so much more enjoyable. Instead, you may as well turn off the sound completely. Considering the game’s focus on storms, it’s weird that their sound is so basic. If it’s raining and you go into a fixed building, instead of the rain sounding muffled, they’ve simply turned down the volume. It sounds really strange. More importantly, this only happens when you enter fixed buildings. When you’re in a vehicle, water-tight or not, it always sounds like you’re outside.

Visual effects could be much improved as well. Fire and exhaust is just basic particle effects, and you can count the particles. No volumetrics (clouds are just polygons you fly straight through). There’s not even a screen effect when your character gets too cold and you start taking damage. Even a very basic effect like the edges of the screen starting to turn white, or the sound of a shivering voice, would add so much to the experience.

The worst thing is that the devs seem very disinterested. Community outreach is almost nil, consisting of a few Q&A sessions with one specific Youtuber. They implement features nobody asked for (like local weather instead of weather that’s the same for the entire map), while ignoring seemingly simple issues people have been asking about for years (like the buoyancy of two nearly identical parts being wildly different – all it took to fix it was changing a number in an XML file). There are no plans to improve career mode and development seems to happen at a snail’s pace. Some new parts (mostly ones that nobody asked for) are introduced every few months, but that’s about it.

TL;DR: Enjoy exploring the intricate mechanics of all the parts, but don’t expect anything close to a polished game.

Gameplay

There are three different game difficulty modes to choose from: Casual; Hard and Expert.

There is no padlock feature that is available to lock the inventory panel in place. The inventory panel automatically comes stationary.

There is a map in the game. The map is automatically given at the start of the game.

The hidden object scenes consist of the following: Fragmented items. Some of these hidden object scenes may require a little or no interaction.

The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them.

There are collectibles in the game: Parables. They are scattered throughout the game for the player to find.

There are morphing objects (beyond objects) in the game. They are scattered throughout the game for the player to find as well. The morphing objects are used to refill the hint bar.

Since this is a collector’s edition game, there is a bonus chapter, but it can be accessed only after the main story is completed.

Miscellaneous

There are extra features in the game: Bonus Chapter; Bonus Puzzles; Wallpapers and Game’s Strategy Guide. Most of these extra features can be accessed only after the entire game is completed.

There are seven different trading cards to collect. Only four of those trading cards are given out by the game. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading cards: Purchased from the Steam’s Community Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and its Booster Pack Creator.

Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game’s full price value.

For the price, what’s the risk?Battle OF PETERSBERG will appeal to hisorical and strategy turn based gamers. Sure, there is room for improvement, especially with the hexagonal map, camera perspective and color scheme, which make it difficult to see terrain and to select units. And, I can’t speak to historical accuracy because I’m no expert. But you get an entire campaign providing several hours of gameplay through multiple battles. The gameplay is simple and no-frills that gives artillery a lot of power (they can move, condutct ranged attack, and destroy entire units, all in one turn). Your strategy will focus on using artillery to blast away entire sections of the enemy front line, followed up by infantry to clean up anything missed by the artillery, and cavalry to exploit the hole you’ve just punched. My recollection of the Petersburg campaign is that this is basically the strategy used. Recommended despite its problems.

Very simple turn based strategy. Four standard units – infantry, cavalry, cannon, general. Four maps to complete the campaign mode and get all 2 achievements in a couple hours.

Nice little game for some trading cards and achievements. There is an old black and white historical photo before each map and one at the end of the game.

The interface could use some polish, but for such a cheap game that only merits a couple hours of play, it is usable.

A very simple but enjoyable hex based strategy game. There is a lot of potential here if the developer wishes to add more scenarios and some additional mechanics. Definitely recommended if you enjoy games like Panzer General or Unity of Command.

May it be related to the cult that’s threatening the folk around the area? Every house has a gate near it, and those gates were locked. You’ll have to find their keys in order to proceed.

Cions of Vega offers a mystery story by cinematic experience with the help of advanced graphics, dramatic music, and immersive sound design. It is not a relaxing experience but slightly thrilling in a couple of moments.

In the game you search for clues inside houses and some other locations about where your daughter may have been to. You find notes, drawings, interact with some characters, and observe the environmental story-telling. There are some small puzzles, some objects & clues you’ll have to find, a little bit of casual platforming, a very easy QTE part… The game generally offers basic interactions.

Save progression: The game saves progress each time you unlock a new gate.
